Jesus taught us that spiritual growth and maturation requires of us intentionality. Like a farmer with a shed full of tools, if a crop is to be produced and fruit is to be borne, the farmer must take the tools and apply them to his fields.
In our spiritual tool-shed are things like study, prayer, meditation, service, the sharing of our journeys and mutual dialogue. These have been given to us for our benefit and we must apply them to benefit from them.
Jesus said, “The Reign of God is like a mustard seed, a tiny little seed that doesn’t look like much on the surface. But when it is planted in the right kind of soil, when it is planted in our hearts, it produces a mighty result that is able to change and transform our lives forever.”
GODLY PLAY
by Ginny Brewer, Director of Church School
We are very excited about our new Spring Sunday School curriculum that started April 20th!
CHANGING IN JOY: Developing Personal Spirituality As We Appreciate Our Unique Place In God's Creation (Or, in other words, "All God's Critter's Got A Place In The Choir").
In keeping with this theme, the children will explore the following concepts:
1. All living things are an integral and interdependent part of God's creation and are loved by God.
2. Since God's creation is sacred, we need to honor all life and be caring stewards.
3. We are all unique and different. God made us that way and loves us in our individuality. God wants us to be true to our authentic selves.
4. We have an important place in God's creation. Each of us has something special to contribute to God's world.
Hope to see your child in Sunday School!
Sunday's
9:30 am RECTOR'S CLASS IN DECEMBER:
The New Testament Book of Acts and the Mission of the Church.
During the four Sundays of Advent, we will look at the key stories of the Acts of the Apostles and reflect upon their relevance for us today. The class will be taught by Fr. Charles and Rev. Claudia.
9:30 am RECTOR'S CLASS IN APRIL:
"'Questions of Value" is the DVD series to be used each Sunday morning in the Rector's Drop-In Class. It's an election year and questions of value are in the forefront of our thinking. Is universal health care a good thing? How are we to respond to people who have come to our country to earn a living for their families, but did so without proper papers? These and many others are the kinds of questions facing our nation.
HOW ARE WE TO DECIDE? On what basis will we make our decisions? This class can help. Each week we will watch a 30 minute lecture by a distinguished professional in the field of ethics and then spend some time talking about what we have heard. Very interesting... very stimulating!!!

St. Luke's Music Team News
This month we would like to highlight the very talented bass section of our choir. They are: Mac Cover and Dick Miner. Yes, we only have 2 basses in our choir, but they are not shy and sure you can hear them from everywhere of the house. Mac has been singing with us for several years. Mac and his companion Annie (who sings in our choir as well) used to be part time residents in Park City. But God heard our prayers and now they are living here full time!! We appreciate Mac’s talents. Besides having a powerful voice and a wonderful ear, he is always on time to rehearsals and very rarely misses rehearsals. In the music world that is a precious talent to have!! He has also been helping us by being a sponsor of professional musicians that we hire for special occasions. His dedication and commitment to our music team is very much appreciated.
Dick joined us last year with his sweetheart Norma (who sings also with us). He is a very talented sight reader. He can sing anything that is presented to him the first time. Part of that comes from birth, but the rest is years of practice and practice. He is our bass section leader. He is in charge of recruiting more basses to join us. If you have a deep voice, be careful with Dick as he might try to get you hooked up with us!!:) Dick is also serving as a vestry member. We all appreciate his sweet heart and smiles.
As always, we invite you to consider music ministries. There are a lot of different ways to serve. Look for the list of open positions in the back of the sanctuary. You will see a super sized keyboard with suggestions and ideas on how to serve. If you have any questions, please see me or send me an email at pianospecialist@hotmail.com.
