CATALINA LÓPEZ M. “CATA”
She was born as a Roman Catholic but when she met her husband and father in law, she adhered to the Anglican Church. Her father in law liked to visit their friends in other Anglican communities and to organize all people (who were his family) for helping the Church in the meetings in the Espíritu Santo Church. In that time there were food raffles, it was very funny and an economical way of eating. In fact, one of the windows of the Espíritu Santo Church has the name of Cata´s father in law.
She says that she was disorientated but Priest Miguel Zavala centered her in religion and as a mature person. She has visited many Anglican congregations and she has liked all of them. She has been participating in the Anglican Church since about 35 years.
Now she is living in Guadalajara, Jalisco, with her daughter and grandchildren, but there she has not found an Anglican Church near her home, so she attends there to a Roman Church. She returns to Mexico City every two months.
Priest Miguel is also in Guadalajara but far (about two hours) from where Cata lives and there is not an easy transportation, especially after evening. She likes to go there because there are many trees and tennis field which can be seen from the balcony. She likes reading, travelling, knowing new places, she loves to examine all knew places. She loves gardening but not handcrafting (knitting, embroidery, etc.).
Cata had an accident with a dog, she was on the roof of her house and the dog pushed her, she fell down but her pear tree absorbed the fall. She says that all days she was at bed (near 8 months) there was people visiting her, some took her food and some other just talked to her. She lasted 7 to 8 years to completely heal. After this, she says that people must not be afraid of living alone because, although your blood family is away, there will always be the love of someone if you’ve known how to sow friendships. She says that one must not ask to The Lord for oneself, but for the necessities of the others because God knows your needs and He gives you that.
