Life often brings challenges and with these challenges often come stress and intense pain.  Health, financial, relationship, family, and vocational crises are eventually experienced by most of us.  In times of crisis and pain, the clergy of St. Luke’s are available to meet with you to provide: evaluation, support, prayer, guidance and, when appropriate, referral to other professionals.

Fr. Charles has been a member and fellow in the Association of Pastoral Counselors.  He is currently a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist in Utah.   Mthr. Claudia has extensive training in pastoral ministry both as a hospital chaplain and parish priest.  Both are willing and available to offer a listening ear and support to you.

Pastoral Counseling

Both Fr. Charles and Mthr. Claudia offer spiritual direction for individuals in our parish community.  Spiritual direction is not crisis counseling, marital therapy, or psychotherapy. 

Spiritual direction is based upon a covenant between a spiritual director and a person known as the “directee.”  The heart of it is an agreement to form a spiritual friendship in which director and directee walk together into their relationship with God.

Spiritual direction normally takes place once per month for about an hour.  Its purpose is to develop a deeper consciousness and awareness of God’s presence and leadership.  Director and directee discuss significant issues in the life of the directee and how his or her relationship with God is impacting that issue.
